Tubular structural systems are one of the most common type of systems in high-rise structures. In the early days of this system, there were weaknesses in its design overcome over time. The most important modification to fix this defect is the use of a series of internal frames in addition to the peripheral frames in the center of the plan. The central frames as the inner tube, enhance the final rigidity and durability of the system. In this paper, high-rise buildings of 30, 40 and 50 floors have been subjected to static linear analysis and resistive design and their key design parameters have been investigated. The method is in a way that several samples with real dimensions are selected and the variables of height and the inner tube dimensions are numerically compared. The results revealed that the inner tube dimensions play an important role in improving the design parameters and the best dimension of the inner tube in a square plan is equal to half of the dimension of the outer tube
This paper examined effect of celebrity expertise and congruence on consumer purchase intention of selected telecommunications firms in Lagos State. Also, it adopted survey research design. The population comprised of 85,819 students from Lagos State University (LASU), University of Lagos (UNILAG), and CALEB University. The sample size was 496 students of selected Universities in Lagos State. Stratified proportionate random sampling technique was employed in the research work while data were gathered through the use of a questionnaire. The instrument was validated while the reliability tests ranged between 0.654 and 0.795. Data from the survey were analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) modeling. This method was used as it has advantages in analyzing data from small samples and can be used for research with reflective and formative models. The results revealed that celebrity expertise has a positive and significant effect on consumer purchase intention of selected telecommunications companies in Lagos State. Also, the finding revealed that celebrity congruence has a significant effect on consumer purchase intention of selected telecommunications companies in Lagos State. The study concluded that celebrity expertise and congruence have significant effect on consumer purchase intention of selected telecommunications companies in Lagos State. It was therefore recommended that telecommunications companies should fine tune their campaign strategy by engaging expert endorsers in their brand promotion to increase sales and patronage.
To minimize corrosion of marine installed facilities, mild steel substrate was coated with Zn-ZnO-xA-15mins coatings (for 1.4A ≤ x ≤ 2.2A at 0.4A interval) using electro co-deposition (ECD) technique. The microstructures of the binary coatings were observed using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The titbits of the constituents present in the coating were assessed using energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The phases present in the deposited coating was assessed via x-ray diffractometer (XRD). The codeposition coating process achieved uniform coating of the substrate. The denseness of the microstructure portrays strong interfacial adhesion of the coating to the substrate. From the corrosion assessment, it is evident that the binary coatings enhanced corrosion control.
From the review of the theories of the cycle of violence, gender violence and the social construction of masculine and feminine identities, carried out a non - experimental, exploratory and descriptive study with a nonrandom selection of students a public university with the aim of establishing a balance and a prospective expectations of violence. The results show that of synaptic weights are explained by incoming, and outgoing latent layers on the pre-contemplation of violence, contemplation of aggressive relationships and personal change. Lines alluding to the kind of relationship research, negotiation and consensus decision making to warn couple conflicts.
Disposal of human corpses involved the practice and process concerned with the remains of a deceased human being. Several methods are practised for dead disposal. Irrespective of the method, the manner is often dominated by spirituality and emotionally related to the people involved. All methods have been contradicted and discussed for their effect on the existing life. Emotions become powerful during the time of death for the loved ones and this is crucial for the society and takes the priority in existing COVID -19 pandemic as the means of disposal are limited. To address this, relevant literature has been searched in PubMed, Google, contemporary documents, web pages and grey literature. The various distinct burial rituals are practiced all over the world. In emergency situations the appropriate disposal of dead bodies is prime concern of the society and Government. In COVID -19 situation precautions and safety measures are to be taken at different levels like starting from packing the body from patient room, shifting to mortuary / crematorium / burial ground. To reduce the risk of spreading during disposal authorities have imposed many restrictions resulting in deviating from traditional practices, leading survivors into grief. The result of COVID -19 restrictions have changed the funeral practices all over the globe in a manner which is not accepted by the people. To conclude COVID -19 pandemic has brought a magnanimous change in all forms of life more so with the disposal of dead and funeral practices away from the religious and traditional norms.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the antistress activity of rhizomes ethanolic extract of Curculigo orchioides Gaertn in vivo, using mice with stress-induced injury. The effect of Curculigo orchioides on motor coordination, spontaneous locomotor activity ,immobility time and analgesia was evaluated in mice using standard procedure. The ethanolic extract of Curculigo orchioides at dose levels i.e. 100 and 200 mg/kg shows pronounced antistress activity evidenced by reduced immobility time in forced swimming and tail test. It also improved motor coordination and enhanced analgesic effect compared to standard Diazepam. The Curculigo orchioides was found to be a antistress activity.
nanofluid above a convectively heated permeable stretching sheet with non-linear\nradiation, chemical reaction and viscous dissipation. The similarity transformation is\nutilized to change the governing Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) to the system of\nnon-linear Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs). The resulting system of ordinary\ndifferential equations is sorted out mathematically by utilizing the shooting method with\nAdams-Moulton method of fourth order and the obtained mathematical outcomes are\ncompared with the published results and the obtained numerical results reflect a very\ngood agreement with those from open literature. Numerical values of the physical\nquantities like, the skin friction coefficient, the Sherwood number and the Nusselt\nnumber for the emerging parameters such as, Pr,Nb,Nt and Le, etc., are also computed\nand discussed in this work. The impact of pertinent flow parameters on the nondimensional\nvelocity, temperature and concentration profiles has been illustrated via\ntables and graphs.
